One of our ventures, Shelterbox, last week made me think.
Shelterbox was set up as a rapid response outfit and deploys many, many times per year, often to areas struck by disasters that don’t make the mainstream news. Luckily they have regular strong support to enable them to do so. But a truly enormous disaster, one that leads the ten o’clock news, does two things.

Private Equity, Charity …or beneficiaries?
On balance probably all of the above. We at VPF have some misgivings however. Not about the money; not about the amount of pro-bono help given to leverage this money to maximise its impact; and certainly not about the goals of either the individual entity or its merged acronym. The private equity sector will also continue to benefit from its association and contribution.
